Unlocking the Joy of Alleluia: New Priest-in-Charge Announcement

As Eastertide blossoms after Lent, the jubilant cry of "Alleluia" resounds. Rooted in ancient traditions, this expression found its place in various liturgies and hymns across Christian denominations. Now, there's even more reason to rejoice as Canon K. Jeanne Person has accepted our call to join us as our new Priest-in-Charge effective June 9th!

Canon Jeanne's appointment marks an exciting chapter for both Christ Church and St. Paul’s & Trinity Parish. Serving part-time, she'll share her ministry and leadership across both congregations. Some of the details on how this will work are still in development and will be announced as soon as they are known. Until then, Canon Jeanne continues her dedicated service as a supply priest, maintaining the current Sunday service schedule.

Let's embrace this new journey with exuberant Alleluias and anticipation for the blessings to come!

Uniting for Enriched Worship: Christ Church & St. Paul’s Collaboration

Over the past 18 months, Christ Church of Red Hook and St. Paul’s & Trinity Parish have engaged in extensive discussions, planning sessions, and meetings to prayerfully consider leveraging our unique strengths for a brighter future. Our goal? To enhance worship experiences for current members and extend our outreach to the wider community. Beyond hosting occasional events, we sought to make a lasting impact.

Led by Barry Knickerbocker, Jim Crane, and David Nandor, our Steering Committee pursued a slow, deliberate approach that would foster a connectedness while assessing our compatibility. We facilitated joint worship services, coffee hours, and shared events while taking great care to preserve each church's individual identity. The success of these efforts led us to the next phase: hiring a Priest-in-Charge to serve both congregations.

As mentioned above, Canon K. Jeanne Person will assume this role starting June 9. As we navigate this transition, uncertainties lie ahead, but we're committed to fostering a more enriching and meaningful experience for all. With Canon Jeanne, the Steering Committee, and the vestries working collaboratively, we're poised for positive change. We seek your cooperation, commitment, and most importantly your prayers as we embark on this journey together.

Prayer for Guidance – BCP, p. 832

58. For GuidanceO God, by whom the meek are guided in judgment, and light riseth up in darkness for the godly: Grant us, in all our doubts and uncertainties, the grace to ask what thou wouldest have us to do, that the Spirit of wisdom may save us from all false choices, and that in thy light we may see light, and in thy straight path may not stumble; throughJesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
